The Blue Album is not only a crucial point in the discography of the incredible and iconic band Weezer, but also in rock music. Still influencing and spreading to different groups of music fans, this album now 30 years old is still growing.
I originally was introduced to Weezer via a format most Weezer fans bought and were familiar with, as well as being top of the line at the time; the compact disc.
Gifted to me by my uncle Eamonm, I began to discover more of the distorted and incredible loud guitars, dominant bass and destructive drums, which all blended together into eleven tracks, like Buddy Holly, Undone – The Sweater Song, Surf Wax America and my personal favourite track on the album, In The Garage.
This album being loved by fellow musicians, rockers and fans, Weezer’s Blue Album is a brilliant and iconic collection of rock classics, distortion, and much more. Along with being a classic though, this album is also confusing, as it is titled officially Weezer, along with 5 other studio with the same name.
