Today I am reviewing the debut album of The Ironsides: Changing Light. Changing Light is a really powerful album, as it has both relaxing and blissful moments such as the title track, to more vast and darker tracks such as Violet Vanished.
Overall, the dynamic aspects of this album are undeniable, and are both subtle and entertaining to listen to. Whether it be Max Ramey on the larger than life bass guitar, or the small yet important tambourines of Kelly Finnigan, this album utilises many different sounds, textures and tones to collage into this beautiful piece.
With playful tracks and instruments, such as the harp on Ligurian Dream, or the rhythmic and dangerous guitar strums on The Web, this album experiments and dances through different genres in an effective yet subtle way.
