Today I reviewed one of the coolest new records in my collection, False Lankum by Lankum. Lankum have been on the scene for a little while now, starting off with their debut album Cold Old Fire. Since then they have released four studio albums including Cold Old Fire and False Lankum, as well as their live album, Live In Dublin, released in 2024.
With a new intensity, progressive and incredibly intricate and interesting, Lankum are re-inventing traditional Irish music with a new unique sounds that is a shock to the system, in the best way possible.
They have really changed the current traditional scene in not only Ireland, as Lankum are becoming people’s new favourite band across the world. As a now massive fan of their music, I am excited to see what Lankum do next.
With astonishingly incredible sound, quality and dedication to the craft, Lankum are not one to miss, with their natural flow, style and trad roots in every track!
